The Lawrence Gateway project, planned for part of the Meeting Tomorrow space, requires a zoning change. On Tuesday Nov 21, Alder Vasquez hosted a community meeting to update neighbors about the project. An overview of the project is available on the 40th ward zoning site and a video link to a recording of the meeting will also be posted there. Community feedback is requested via the Zoning Change Feedback Form (project title is Lawrence Gateway). Please complete this by Tuesday, December 5th to share your feedback with the ward office and developers.
The proposed development along Lawrence Avenue would encompass the parking lot and the triangular warehouse building west of the alley (not the main building between the alley and the river or the apartment building on Manor). The project includes some affordable units as well as retail space. A parking lot stands over the unbuildable land due to an MWRD easement, similar to LaPointe Park.
