The Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association (RMIA) is a nonprofit neighborhood organization, whose purpose, based on its charter, is to:
Promote the welfare of the community in respect to the maintenance and improvement of the physical appearance of the private and public property; the compliance with the laws as applicable to private and public property; the maintenance of facilities with respect to the safety, health and welfare of its residents.
Where
Ravenswood Manor is defined by its 1909 subdivision boundaries, which are the Chicago River (east), Sacramento Avenue (west), Lawrence Avenue (north), and Montrose Avenue (south). It is located in the east end of the Albany Park Community Area, on the northwest side of Chicago. The CTA’s Brown Line “L” serves the community (Francisco Station).
What
Ravenswood Manor is a largely residential neighborhood comprising more than 500 buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places on September 5, 2008. The neighborhood was first subdivided in 1909 by William E. Harmon & Co. Ravenswood Manor Improvement Association (RMIA) was established in 1914 to guide area improvement and build community.
